villisca Advent Christian Church Leadership
Villisca Advent Christian Church is blessed to have a leadership team truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our executive committee and their qualifications for ministry.
Pastors Jeff and Kim Eason
I was born and raised in the deep south, in the state of Mississippi, and I still speak with a little bit of my southern drawl. I married my high school sweetheart, Kim, in 1981, and she and I began the ministry shortly after our marriage. We have raised three children, two boys, and a girl. Our reward for parenting is most definitely our four grandchildren. Our eldest son, Justin and his wife Stephanie, live in Norwalk, Iowa and have two boys, Langston and Emerson. Our middle child, Dale, lives in Villisca, plays and sings with our worship band, and has one son Sylar, who is my oldest grandchild, and a daughter Addalyn. Our daughter Keri lives on the farm with us and has 15 kids—she raises goats.
Our family loves the outdoors. I love to hunt, as well as ride horses and four-wheelers, all of which I can do on our hobby farm where, as I said before, we raise goats, sheep, horses, chickens, geese, and two potbelly pigs (they are my wife’s pets).
Music has always been a big part of my life. From the front porch of a Louisiana Saturday night playing classic country with my brother and stepdad, to setting behind the piano of the church, I love music. I believe that is why a lot of our ministry has been focused on the freedom of worship that has been granted every Christian.
Elder/Board Chairman/Music Minister
Hello all! I am Terry Dalton. Let me introduce my family; Terry, Darcy, Dylan, Delaney, Tierney and Teagan. I am the Praise and worship leader, Elder, and Darcy and I assist with the Youth group on Sunday evenings. I work in Omaha as an Area operations director for a Dialysis Clinic Inc. and Darcy is the school nurse here in town. We love our church family.
I started coming to the Advent Christian Church in 2012 when I began searching for a church that based its beliefs solely on the Bible. In 2014, I was baptized and became a member of the Advent Christian Church in Villisca. Since then I have been involved in youth group, Sunday school classes, served as a deacon and part of the Dream Team.
I live north of Nodaway with my wife, Liz. We have two sons, Adam and Evan. I am actively involved in farming, coaching, and run an outfitting business in the winter. Being in the outdoors is where I feel I connect with God the most. My hope and prayer is to grow God’s kingdom and bring more of our community to Christ.
I became an Advent Christian in 1965 through baptism in the Villisca church. Since that time I have held many positions within not only the local church, but also on the conference, regional, and national levels. It has been rewarding to serve the Lord in all of these capacities throughout the years. I have a 32-year background in the pre-press production business having left that company as a supervisor of the computer paging department. That background gave me the skills to take on the job of church secretary and treasurer in 1998. Having given up the treasurer's job several years ago, I am still the secretary to the church board. I am also the administrator for the church's Facebook and Website pages. The years have passed quickly but even though this position keeps me busy, it's also a lot of fun as I work with many of the church family as well as the church board and the pastor. I hope to continue to serve the Lord in this capacity as long as He wants me to and keeps me healthy enough to do so!
I have attended or been a member of the Advent Christian Church since childhood, going to Sunday School even before I started kindergarten. I graduated from Villisca Community School and went on to get an Associate's Degree from Southwestern Community College. In 1969 I married Robert TenEyck at the Advent Christian Church, and we had 3 children: Bobbi, Jennifer, and Ryan. Bob and I were married for over 32 years when he passed away. I have 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In 2010 I married Kenneth Herbert and now have 3 step children, 6 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchilden. I like being Treasurer of the church because I like working with numbers. When you make a mistake it can be frustrating to find the error, but it is rewarding when you do so.
